My friend recently had his computer crash. His CPU turns on but the keyboard and mouse never go on. The monitor's green light goes on, meaning that the monitor has a signal from the CPU, but it's still blank. Nothing ever shows up on his screen. His computer CPU always beeps when he turns on his computer but it never did. I tried unplugging and replugging his CPU and monitor. I tried to unplug and replug both VGA cable ends. What could be wrong?
A lot or a little could be wrong. How did the computer crash- what was your friend doing? Do the fans turn on? More information is needed to pin point issue or else I am just throwing suggestions. ASUS K8V-X

Actually, it didn't really crash. He had this BSOD problem once in a while, when he was online that forced him to turn off his computer. This happened to him and after he turned off his computer and turned it back on,the problem started. Besides, I don't think what the BSOD was related.
i get a blank screen, then i reboot and it works [4 times out of 500 times turning it on] i wonder if its my harddrive
I am having exactly the SAME PROBLEM with my laptop!!! So lucky to finally find someone on the same boat!! My problem is getting worse though. At first I only need to wait for 15 minutes for it to work back on, but now it may sometimes take a day or two! It is so unpredictable now that I keep it running all the time without shutting down. My friend asked someone else and he said it was the motherboard. I guess he was right because it works fine now. I'm not sure if that really was the problem because he also got new ram and a new video card.
