I got a Nvivda GeForce FX 5200 and i have a Compaq V70 (monitor is not new) when ever i log on to my account it blanks out and if i go to properties on destop and then settings and advanced it blanks out. It is getting very annoying i need help! Thank You.

The refresh-rate could be set too high for your monitor at the resolution that you're using. Did you download the latest version of the driver? There may be a problem with it - let me know it you did. svg

I'm referring to the nVidia Driver which, as I was checking, appears to be updated @ 9 dec, so I will have to upgrade it too:) But, in short, if it's the driver, then follow this procedure to make sure it's installed properly: 1)uninstall the driver of your display-adapter(your FX5200). 2)reboot XP into VGA-mode 3)when in vga-mode, install the driver again. I had some trouble with it when just installing the driver without first uninstalling the old version (I got 'Catastrophic Failure' in the Advanced section of the display properties).
