Heya. I have this new computer and when I go into the Display Settings, there is a #1 and a #2 monitor listed. My computer only uses #1, so is there a way I can hide or just get rid of this #2 altogether? And what is it for? I tried looking under Device Manager, and there are two listings under Monitor, but they are exactly the same from what I've seen so far..so I don't want to do anything I'll end up regretting.

Also, what does Hertz mean? Is it better to keep it to it's lowest setting or highest setting?

Thanks,
Chris

most graphics cards nowadays make 'two' divices appear, you cant get rid of hit so just ignore it. Asfor the hertz, that determines how fast the moniter if refreshed... higher settings reducing flicker and therefore reducting strain on your eyes... should be at least 75 or the highest your monitor can support. Setting it higher than its safe zone could damage it.

Make sure the monitorname listed as monitor #1 is the make and model you actually own. If you have this setup correctly then the monitor should be safe from possible damage due to setting beyond the capabilities of the monitor. Most monitors today will be identified correctly by windows. The reason you have two DISPLAY settings is because your graphics card is a dual head card. This means you con connect a second monitor to the card and either clone the screen, span the picture over both monitors, or even run two different programs.
