My brother recently bought a hp desktop. It seemed to work fine for awhile until recently the desktop disappears and the monitor has colorful stripes on it. The only way to get rid of the problem is doing a cold boot. Than after another 10 minutes the problem will occur again. I updated the monitor drivers, reinstalled the video card drivers and everything. That only seems to solve the problem for a week and than it returns. I did the all the HP diagnostics tests for video and it passed. Does anyone know what may the problem be and if it is an easy fix? Thanks.
