I have recently installed XP and am having trouble installing my modem. I have an Intel HaM Data Fax Voice Modem. Windows XP identifies this device (actually V92 I have v90) but can't install all the necessary drivers. I have been to the Intel site and got the XP drivers for this device (a generic driver i think) however XP asks for a file called Intel H51.sys, this is not included on the upddated drivers. There is something called Intel H51 but not .sys. Does anybody know where to get this driver or another update for this modem?

Try finding your sys file on google.com
Also look in the
Windows
Windows\system
Windows\system32
directories

I have recently installed XP and am having trouble installing my modem. I have an c56k data/fax Modem (CNET). Windows XP identifies a generic modem's but it doesn't want to work. Does anybody know where to get this driver or another update for this modem?
pleasse send me any information as quickly as you can.

Check out www.creatix.com for the driver. I've installed it on my system anc can connect but cannot get any web pages to display. Any ideas?

I had the same problems with Ham modem and XP.
If you download XP-drivers for HAM Modem PCI you will get V.92 drivers instead of V.90.
I finaly downloaded the V.90 drivers for Windows 2000 and my computer will now shut down normal.
Hope this will help you!

When using Dial up Networking in Windows XP Professional, the mouse and system tends to stick or freeze - the problem goes away when Dial up Networking is stopped. We have 7 of this model and all exhibit similar behaviour. The systems are built with Windows XP Professional though supplied originally with XP Home. We have tried using a separate PCMCIA modem (Xircom) but the behaviour persists - though less. We suspect an Interrupt conflict - possibly a BIOS issue. Please advise if you know about this and have any suggestions to resolve. This is an otherwise faultless system with no other problems - it only occurs when a dialup modem connection is running and then only when data is being sent/received. When data has arrived, the
mouse and system is freed again. We have seen exactly similar behaviour running XP Professional on a Sony Vaio PCG-R600HFPDIf we rebuild the same machine using XP Home, the problem goes away........
I've dug around all the sources we know, and looked at BIOS upgrades etc - all to no avail.
