driver? look for the driver at the compaq page, use the most recent dor win2k since the others had problems disconecting. Im asuming it will work, i dont have xp on my laptop but do have 2k, and id say its better for the laptop than xp. Also a big note here, disable sound blaster emulation on the bios, else the modem and pcmcia wont work under NT based OS. You dont need it anyway, thats for old games

Hi,
Have you find the drivers for your modem ? I upgrade my presario 1275 with XP and I also trouble with the modem. From what I know It seems that I need to change the modem...but maybe you have found a solution to this problem.

Dear Compaq lovers, Its time to throw our LT modems. XP can not recognize it and compaq wil not update its firmware (Error Code 29) We all have to buy a PCMCIA modem or an external modem. My next laptop will not be compaq for sure; I am shocked by compaq's decission.

I have a Compaq Presario 1275 with 56K-DF modem, and I wasn't able to make work my modem both under W2000 and XP. My Compaq dealer says that the firmware doesn't work under NT environments, but I'd heared that it works fine anyway. Anybody can help me?
