Sometimes when i turn my computer on it does not load my external modem as it is not reaconising it, is it just a case of a dodgy modem or something more complex on the system

Mart, I use a USR V92 External modem and I must turn the modem on first then start my computer for Windows XP to recognize it and load the drivers. Many others using an external modem experience the same thing. I wouldn't worry about it.
Merry Christmas, Tufenuf

Ok thankyou for your suggestions, the modem is a usb plug and play device, and doesn't have an on or off button on it.
Should soon be getting a broadband modem soon from my isp so i won't need the modem anymore.
