Hi all.

I'm having problems with my dial up connection. it occasionally stops when I get as far as the checking username and password. It then clicks off and tries to redial. This is strange as occasionally I get a connection strait away.

In the Event viewer under application, I get the following message under icservice:-

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( icservice ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Service started.

What does this mean and how do I sort it? Its infuriating having a unreliable connection.

I'm running xp home
Connexant HCF modem
BT yahoo Dial up.

Cheers,
DBG

Might be a problem with your ISP. Used to happen to me from time to time on dialup. If it goes on for more than a day it could be on your end.

Customer support @ most ISP's will not aknowledge any problems so don't expect a lot.
