Where do I start. Cingular has the laptop connect. Is this the right solution for me. How slow will this be? Thanks

If you are using your cell phone as a modem to connect to your home via pcanywhere it will be VERYYYY slow. If you are getting 14.4 you are doing very good. There are two other solutions that will work a hell of a lot better for you then using pcanywhere and your cell phone. You first alternative option is to cingulars high speed wireless networking. Call cingular for information about it. They will know what you are talking about. It costs about 50 dollars a month for the service but you will get high speed internet from anywhere you get cell phone reception. Then from there you can connect to your pc via vpn or even directly using windows xp remote access which is built in. The other option is to get a wireless network card use existing wireless networks in your area as a source for broadband internet connectivity then connect to your computer via windows remote access. If you have dynamic ips on your home computer you will either need to have your isp change them to static or you will have to use no-ip.com if you want to keep your dynamic ips. But thats okay because no-ip.com is a free service. Hope that helps!
