Comment:

I have fully patched XP. My staff have W2K. They can access MMC disk management but I get "you don't have rights to logical disk manager". Staff and I are set to every admin possible. We have installed adminpac.msi.

Why does MMC work on 2000 but not on XP?

Exact error is "you do not have access rights to Logical Disk Manager on server\domain"

Any clues as to why this happens? TIA

Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

Are they admin or power users? Are the computers part of a domain? Are they using domain logons? They might have a permission blocked I guess too. Is there a security policy or group policy in effect? Did you use any standard security templates or make your own?

administators [schema, domain, enterprise, etc.]
Domain members
No GPO to us admins and it works on 2000 but not XP

I have joined a workgroup and back into the domain. Made no difference.
