I have lost some of my windows sounds and I don't know how to get them back. The missing sounds are the startup/shutdown sounds as well as sounds associated with MSN messenger. I have checked the sounds settings in the control panel and verified that I have "windows default" scheme selected. The sounds are there (they play from the sound setup menu) but for some reason, they don't play when they are supposed to during normal operation.
