Hi,
Everytime i load windowsxp i get prompted with a message that winnt/system32/system32.exe is missing. How can I get back this file without losing any data?

system32.exe is a virus, not a real system file. Apparently you had it, but now your system cant find it on the hard drive. There's probably a registry entry telling it to load at Windows start. Try running Ad-Aware or AVG Anti-virus. Or look under these:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Run
