Missing Start Button Win XP Pro

My Start button is not longer on my taskbar...Everything else seems to be working fine, just the button is missing...Any ideas? Any help is much appreciated...Thanks in advance

Try and reset theme, right click desktop and choose properties. Go to Appearence tab. Try and switch to Win 98 then back to Win XP. Also what happens if you press the Windows button on keyboard ?
