Hi,
ok when I click START and look in the list to see if there is the run button. Well it is not there. Plus I found out that I can not use Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Says been disabled by admin. I am the admin and I did not disable it. Scanned for virus found 2. Got rid of it. Then scanned with Ad-aware and Spybot. Both programs found crap. Got rid of them. Now suppose to be clean. So how can I get back the RUN and Ctrl+Alt+delete up and going again?
Thanks in advance.

Did you try restarting your machine after you cleaned those? Check the startup entries in Registry - hkey_local_machine>software>microsoft>windows>current_version>run
"No matter how bad the ladder looks...keep Climbing!"

To restore the missing 'RUN' command to the Start menu.
0. Right-click the Taskbar and select Properties.
1. Select Start Menu.
2. Click on Customize.
3. Click on Advanced.
4. Look for a check box for Run command in the option window. Check the box.

Left out the second problem, for that try the URL below.
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Taskmanager_error.htm

right click on start and then under the "start menu" tab click on customize
then goto the advance tab and make sure run is checked as well as any other thing you want on your start menu

Tried what you guys said to do and nothing. If I right click START Properties, etc... I do not have to option to put a check mark in the box. 2nd thing I tried was WINDOWS KEY + R and this is what it says This operation has been cancelled due to restictions in affect on this computer. Please contact your system admin.

May want to check Registry settings in this--
Policy Settings for the Start Menu in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;292504&Product=winxp

ok went to the link above. Ok it just made me more confused. How can I get into regedit if I do not have the RUN option in the START list?
Thanks again in advance.
Redd

HI,
sorry guy's from last post I found out how to do it and got my RUN button back. Thanks for all your help. : )Redd

Redd, Now that you did solve the problem can you tell us how you did it. I am having the same issue.
Thank you

Ok sorry about the delay. I had forgotten how I did it because I did not have the RUN button to get into REGEDIT. I used SEARCH and typed in regedit and in the list I founf regedit.exe and boom there you are. That's how I did it. What was stopping me to fix the problem was that. Do what they say above and should be ok.
