missing remote desktop icon.. and

Specs: XP PRO SP2, 1 GB

ok, weird stuff going on... all of a sudden, i cannot find my remote desktop icon under start, acc, comm...
the icon use to be there, now i cannot find it anywhere...
anyone know where the exe is? i looked under system32... didnt see it...

that and another weird thing.. i defrag often.. and always get it down to 0%... now after i defrag, it only goes down to 7%
any ideas?

Look for %SystemRoot%\system32\mstsc.exe

great! found it, thanks bryan!!
why did it leave me i wonder!?

i can connect using using remote desktop from my dads laptop to mine, both XP pro, SP2's...
but i can not conntect to his from mine...

why is that

both are password protected free.. both do not allow guests...

under network neighborhood i am able to goto his shared folder, and he is able to access mine as welll

ohh, and yes, both are set to allow remote access under my computer, properties.. allow remote desktop....

ok, sorry, i am just writing to myself here...
it says under network neighborhood, that my dads laptop is xp PRO.... but i went down and checked it out and sure enough its xp HOME.. that explains why i cant connect to his... but i can with his to mine...
but why would it say that under the properties under network neighborhood...

Why is states Pro vs Home in Network Neighborhood Properties? I am not so sure of where you mean. Do you see it somewhere when you Right click on "My Network Places" and then select Properties?
May I suggest that perhaps it was simply named that way by your dad.

You can use TightVNC to connect to his from yours. It is free.

hey bryan.. thanks for your help..
no, under network neighborhoods.. under workgroup, is my fathers computer and mine...
if i right click his computer (dads laptop is the name) and goto properties... it says his OS is win XP PRO... (as does mine, mine is pro though, his is home)
just find that to be odd...
