Missing recovery D: drive

November 15, 2009 at 03:04:17
Specs: Windows XP
I have a Gateway PC, model no GT5042b, & due to a bad virus attack on my IP address some got through. The hard drive had to be totally cleared this meant loosing my recovery D: drive. My Gateway Windows disc will load but something is obviously missing as I continually have crashes. I have saved a copy of the recovery D: drive onto an external hard drive. How do I partition & load my backup copy of D: drive so that I can load my Gateway Windows disc?

Hi,
check if D: drive is still current
go to start run and type CMD and return
then type the following command

"Command" fsutil fsinfo drives and then enter
this will bring a list of your drives in use the D: drive might be just hidden example to drive letter assigned check this 1st
