I must have used a tweak sometime but My Computer icon has disappeared from my desktop and its not in my desktop folder either. When I try to restore it using "Display Properties" / "Customize Desktop" the My Computer icon is greyed out and I cant tick the box to restore it. Can anyone tell me how to restore it... please..

can you undo the tweak settings? I think TweakXP will allow you to revert everything back to default
might want to try running System File Checker
Go to Start> Run> type 'sfc.exe /scannow' (without the ''s)

I used a few different tweaks from different tweakers... I know.. stupid!!!
What I need to know is what part of the registry will fix this?
I`ll try SFC /scannow

after you finish with the SFC check the "customize desktop" and see if you can get my computer back, if not, you might want to try doing a system restore (if you ahve it enabled) back to a day when you had my computer on your desktop

Put a My Computer icon in the desktop folder by opening Windows Explorer, highlight Desktop, then drag and drop My Computer into the right hand pane, and it will create an icon for you.

Eddie, You may want to go to the link below and under the letter "I" scroll down to "Icons - Remove and Restore" where you'll find instructions regarding editing your registry to get the My Computer icon back. It's good practice to at least backup the registry key prior to editing it.
