On Dell laptops the Intel PROset missing system tray icon (usually lost inadvertently while disabling a wireless network) can be restored as follows.
1) Click 'Start' on the taskbar
2) Navigate to 'Programs', 'Intel PROSet wireless' and click on the blue 'Intel PROSet Wireless' Icon
3) In the ensuing dialog box, main menu bar click 'Tools' and point to 'Application Settings' (or press <Ctrl + P> on the keyboard)
4) Top of ensuing window under 'Task Tray' check the box 'Show application icon in the taskbar'
5) Click 'OK' followed by 'Close' to exit the program.If the Intel PROSet and/or its shortcuts are missing from start and program menus:
a) On the taskbar click 'Start' and point to 'Run'
b) Paste the following line in the 'Run' box and click OK"C:\Program Files\Intel\Wireless\Bin\iFrmewrk.exe" /af Intel PROSet/Wireless
Perform step 3 thru 5 as per above.
