i recent upgraded from Windows 98 SE to Windows XP. i have some error on my hard drive that causes it to occasionally "misplace" free gigs on my C drive. i know there was a program on Windows 98 SE that i could run to recover this lost space (but i don't remember what it was called). how can i recover this approximate 1 gig of space with windows xp?

dear teddy
a little trick i found with xp is system restore makes copies all the bloody time which can take up vital space on your drive. to get back your space do this..
1-open mp computer/right click c:\ drive and click properties/click on disk clean up/when it comes up click on more options/see system restore at the bottom/this is what you can click to delete the most recent restore points giving you back about 1 gig of drive space but you stil will have some restore points left
try it and let me know how you got on
P.S after deleting just click ok and close my computer and then reopen and check your space on yoyr c:\ drive

cheers oan
