Hi can you please help me with this problem.
A couple of days ago one of my folder disappear I had it as a hidden file on my desktop but when I go to folder option and click on show hidden files and folders it does not show. Moreover when you click on show hidden files and folders and click apply doesn’t it suppose to left at show hidden files and folders because the tick is at show hidden files and folders option.
It changes back to do not show hidden files and folders.2MM

Open Regedit.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced. Go to the rightside of the window, where the values are. Find the value "Hidden". Rightclick it and modify it to 1.

The "Repair Regedit" button resets Regedit view state information to the defaults.

2mm my advice is stay out of the registry. It's not for the uninformed.
Have you gone to Tools in IE and folder options? Then you go to view and click the radio button for "show hidden files and folders". Then click Apply.
Now you have changed your view to see hidden files and folders. You have to see them before you can change their properties like you were trying to do with the directory properties.
