id been having some problems with my ipod and decided to reinstall my firewire card
However when i removed it from device manager and restarted the found new hardware wizard came up but it couldnt find the correct drivers, not even on my xp pro cd.
This is very strange since drivers arnt suppose to be needed it should just install automatically like it did when i first installed it =(
In device manager its being displayed as IEEE 1394 controller but has the no drivers yellow exclamation next to itAny idea as so what would cause this? Or perhaps is i can download the drivers somewhere or is theyre even available (there are none on the manufacters website, they dont provide them since xp is not supposed to need any additional drivers to install it)
could this even be a hardware issue? The model is FW72874-31 and on the box it says IEEE 1394A (the company is NEC i think)

download the installer program (free) after log in...30 day free trial. it will detect all devices and offer drivers. Take the one suggested, download it, this should solve the problem/

no that didnt work
next to the device in question on the hardware summary page it just says "Microsoft Windows XP" indicating the driver comes with xpit didnt offer any driver download
