CPU/Ram: 3.2ghz centrino w/ht
Product: toshiba

hi, whe i start my comp it says missing file (windows directory)\system32\ntroskrnl.exe

i tryed to got to dos using the xp cd and going into repair mode. When i tryed to copy it at command prompt it says access denyed. Safe mode will not start or last known config. I got this error after my comp over heated and shutdown with out going to start and shutdown. (auto shut off at 90C)

if you have any ideas how to fix this please tell me.

As far as your overheating thing, that indicates a problem unless you've overclocked. If you have, that might explain it.

As for over heating, i know theres a problem with dust in the fans, I spray it out with an air can one a month and it will run cool again. It always runs a little hot cuz it has a desktop proccesor in it. I tried serches on google and had no luck. I'm looking at that microsoft link now. Thanks,

thanks for the microsoft link above, i got the file rplaced, now it giving me an error about driver ntfs.sys being coreupt or missing. ANy ideas?

got that fixed...then system would hang on certain driver while starting looked that up and fixed that then hanged said eplored.exe missing or curupt, so i finally just reinstalled windows lol. thanks for your help though.
