Strange problem that cropped up about 2 weeks ago.
After booting the computer, and from the desktop, if I go to a web page, the screen opens almost full but with a gap of little more than an eight of an inch from the bottom of the page to the taskbar. It's simple to pull down, and moving on the web, it remains full height. However, if I close out to the desktop, and open a new webpage. Same problem.
I know all the tricks on resizing when I ran 9X computers and they always worked. They don't work here.
For some reason, the issue doesn't appear on the desktop. Resizing a new notepad form to full page works fine.
More of a nuisence than anything, but if someone has an idea, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance...

If I understand correctly, look at the 3 buttons in the extreme upper right of the browser window. The center button will either "maximize" or "restore down".

If you close the browser while it's in "restore down" mode, the next time you open it, it will still be in "restore down" mode. If it's "maximized" & you close it, then reopen, it will stay full screen.

Any changes have to be made to the very 1st browser window you open. If you have multiples open & adjust them to size but do not adjust the orignal/1st window you opened, the adjustments won't stick. The fact that you're able to tag the bottom of the window & pull it to size tells me you're in "restore down" mode.

Here's what to look for:

And just to clarify...if the maximize button is showing, it means you're in restore down mode, & vice-versa.

Jack, The instructions at the link below may also be of some help.

How do I have an Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) window open in the maximized position every time?
