My office Dell PC has died. Bad P/S killed motherboard, etc. I have bought a new HP Pavilion 502 system with XP pre-installed. I would like to rip the harddrive out of the old PC (40 Gb; it has a lot of valuable data)and install it in the new system for added capacity and access to old files.
The last time I did this, I was working in DOS.
Is it still as simple as setting master and slave jumpers, accessing BIOS and setting harddrive options, etc.??

Or should I pay to have this done?

Thanks in advance.

If the drive was partitioned with FAT32, should be a piece of cake.
