Help! bought this scanner cuz it says its XP compatible. Loaded it, worked once, then boom baby, it crashes my computer each time. Says it does not recognize the scanner and just cant get it to run. I downloaded a driver from Microtek (huge 20+megs) and wrote to them bozos, 3 times in last 2 weeks, no response from them at all. I cant find any specific 4900 trouble shooting items on their site as well. Someone help!

I found microtek to be very accomodating when I had problems installing 3600 model/USB connection. They Emailed me specific answers to my specific questions which I followed and voila....no more problems. Try them again maybe in a less angry tone and maybe with a few more details other than it crashes.Under control panel/administrative tools you can actually view the error messages that causes the boom baby
