Microsoft Update CPU usage

CPU/Ram: Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0Ghz, 1
Product: eMachines T6212

How comes when I use "Windows Update", it never uses a lot of CPU usage and never crashes; but when I use "Microsoft Update", it's unstable as hell -- it takes almost 5 mins to get to the updates list whereas WU takes about 15 secs.

It seems that the new Microsoft update searches for not only OS updates but also all M.S program updates as well.

I see now... but it's weird and frustrating as Microsoft Update causes Internet Explorer to lockup and I get "Not Responding". If only I had a dual-cored CPU! Oh well. xD
