Is RegClean able to work on XP? According to this site:
http://www.winguides.com/downloads.php?guide=registry
It is available for all Windows versions.
I have done some research on this program for making periodic cleaning of unwanted items in the registry, but have mostly seen it available for Windows 95/98 users, but not other versions.
If anyone has any info on this or has tried RegClean with XP please reply.
Thank You

I have used RegscrubXP which a free program that works with XP. The only thing is that the free version only lets you fix so many items at a time and you have to re-run it until you get them all. But it works great.

I have used it since XP came out and never had a problem.
I also use RegCleaner and Norton Systemworks, and they work fine too.
The one I liked best was Easy Cleaner by Toni Arts but found that after running it, my XP help disappeared. There is a fix for it but I think you have to run it every time the help function disappears so I gave up until Toni Arts comes out with a version that does not corrupt or delete the help files.

After reviewing the site that I listed I was mistaken that "RegClean" is available for Windows 95/98/NT and "RegCleaner" is available for all Window versions.
Since I have XP I downloaded the RegCleaner and found that it did a great job on cleaning the registry of unwanted items, but is kind of complicated.
If anyone else is interested in downloading this program; I only used the registry cleanup option under the tools tab. It will give you the option of cleaning all: OLE, Orphan Files, and Registry.
I would be interested in finding out more about this item, so I will take some time to read the ReadMe.

I never tried the MS Reg cleaner program. There are two good registry cleaners that are free from www.jv16.org.Reg Cleaner 4.3 was pretty good. Then someone recommended jv16 Power Tools to me.Now that program does a very good job cleaning.Uninstalls programs, cleans, fixes registry(I haven't had to use that option).I tried Reg Scrub XP for a few weeks.I found that Power Tools does a better job and is easier to understand/use.Jv16PowerTools has been dependable and trouble free for me so far.Regards.JB
