When I receive a email with a attachment which is a jpg image, but wants to open it with microsoft office picture the pictures don't show up they have little red X in the corner with no picture. If I save the attachment to my desktop and then open it with microsoft office picture it will show the picture. How can I get the image to show up by clicking on it in my email? Thanks in advance

Open Internet options from control panel. Select Advanced tab and scroll down to multimedia section. Put a check in the box for Show pictures!

What anti-virus programs do you have installed and working? It could be one of the settings in the anti-virus suite that is configured to not allow images (well, JPGs) to show automatically. It's quite common with over-bearing virus scanners! Although it is safer at the same time, to be fair.
Check that you don't have email attachments restricted by any firewall along those lines.
