Microsoft Office at startup entries

I've noticed that in the startup entries there is Microsoft Office. Does anybody know why is there and if is actually needed when the PC boots? Is it safe to remove it from the startup folder and msconfig..or even from the registry? I suppose there is no need for Microsoft Office to start every time the PC boots? Am I right or wrong? Thanks for any replies!

I have seriously removed EVERYTHING from the startup folder and msconfig and had no problems. You should however be careful not to turn off any Antivirus or Firewall software from msconfig. I'm sure someone will scream at me here but I've done it and that's that.

I would say it's safe. I did it. Run msconfig and remove it from the startup. I think office install a program called filefinder or something. It's been known to be buggy and you can remove that as well.

When I install Office, any version, the first thing I do is turn off the startup stuff in msconfig, especially FindFast.
I wouldn't do the Registry thing unless all else fails.
