Hi: It seems now when I search on the web I get quite a number freezes and Microsoft "not responding".

I am not certain if this is a virus as I can clear it. What are the reasons for this happening. Can it be an overload of files etc.?

My computing experience has only just started so I am in need of some advice.

You what happens to me, every once in a while, some times more often than others, after a pop up screen, most of the time's it's intention pop ups not ads, I'll go to close the window and all of a sudden I can't click on anything, the only thing I can do is click the "X" to close the browser and I get the message box that says "IE not responding", End or cancel. I always have to end it and reopen IE. Iv'e tried reinstalling IE but that didn't work.
