I recently bought a Transcend Microsd 2GB Card and I put it into the adaptor and into my laptop's sd reader. It asked if I wanted to format it, it clicked yes and it started then couldn't complete it! Now whenever I put it in my laptop it autoplays for ages then does nothing. I try right clicking it and it hangs there for about 15 mins. I have no idea what to do now, I have tried troubleshooting, help from the companie's website. All useless.
Any insight would be much appreciated because it is making me cranky!

I've got a microsd card with a very similar problem, and unfortunately I tried just about everything to fix it to no avail, using tools to kill and re-partition, a low level format program, cracking it open with a hex editor zeroing it out and saving,.......
I came to the conclusion it had no chance, partially readable in hxd but not writeable.
My suggestion would be to try other card readers or devices(mobile phone ect.), if it fails on them take it back on warranty.

The rule of thumb is to always format cards from the camera or mobile phone that have FAT16 format available. FAT16 is the type recommended by transcendusa per the FAQ below:
