Doubleclick the small speaker symbol in systry to open the mixer. Then click options, properties and select the devices, that should be shown in the mixer program.

If Microphone is not displayed in V.C., then click Options up in the Menu Bar, then Properties, check mark the Mic box to get it displayed.

Is the Mic un-muted in Windows Volume Control. If Microphone is not displayed in V.C., then click Options, then Properties, check mark the Mic box to get it displayed.

I use Realtek's HD Audio drivers (Which was what came with the laptop)
The option also doesn't appear in Realtek's Audio Manager, I just checked
