Hi people, i have a problem, when i had win 98 before i upgraded to XP i used to use my microphone all the time, where it be playing online games or just chatting with friends to have the ease without typing, now since i upgraded to windows XP, when i talk on the mic for periods of time my voice tends to die out and is hardly audiable from my friends, but yet when i reboot my computer and go back to the game or chat with a friend again its back to normal, any idea what causes this or if any fixes or tips to fix it that you know about would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with the talk feature on aim..But thats when it does connect which isnt often...I hate aim but everyone i know is on it...Have u tried going to your volume control settings(start/programs/accessories/entertainment/volume control...There is a microphone booste which might do something if u already havent tried it..Make sure ur mic volume is all the way up since your friends cant hear u well...good luck

This is very strange, as I am also having the same problem whilst using msn messenger, when I first start using voice everything is fine then my audio to the other user dies away to a very low level,,,sometimes I can't here the other user atall , I have checked all my sound card settings, volume and mic settings which are all set to the correct level and I have also tried the mic boost this made no difference,,,,,so I would be pleased if someone had an answer....cheers ,, Mick

I to am having the same problem. I've got asus onboard sound and used my microphone with winME no problem. Since upgrading to winPX (Duel Boot)the mic doesn't work but still does on winME. I've even tryed putting in another sound card (c-media) and still the same problem. I've checked all the volume settings over and over and I'm sure I'm not doing anything wrong. Can Someone please help??
