Every time I want to use my microphone, I have to go to Control/Sounds & Audio/ Audio/Sound Playback/Volume/Play Control/Options to uncheck Mute under Microphone. Is there any way of making the DEFAULT NOT MUTED?

Your suggestion is what I have been doing. The problem is that as soon as I finish using the microphone, the PLAY CONTROL goes back to putting a check-mark in the MICROPHONE MUTE box.
