i have a mic that isnt working and i have tested that it was workig before i reformatted. i know the mic works, and i have checked all the volume controls and stuff. please help.

Right click on the volume icon in the task bar, Click on open volume controls, Click on the advanced tab under mic volume, make sure the microphone boost check box is checked.
