I reformatted windows awhile back, and before i reformatted, my mic worked fine. But after i reformatted, it hasn't worked since, and i'm finally getting around to trying to make it work again. I think it has something to do with drivers i maybe didn't install or maybe some mobo drivers, i don't know. Just looking for it to get working again.

I have a sennheiser p90 headset with a mic attached to it, SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio onboard sound, and some kind of asus mobo.

Thanks in advance...

Have you checked the mixer 'Recording' properties to make sure the Mic is not muted?
Double click the yellow speaker in the Systray.

I had this EXACT problem!!

I was tryin to use my PS2 Headset on my ps2 and i finaly got it to work.

If you go to;

1. Control Panel
2. Sound and Audio devices (depending on your version of windows)
3. Click VOICE and then settings will appear.
4. In the 2 bars make sure you headset is selected.

IF IT STILL DOESNT WORK;

5. Click TEST HARDWARE, this is search for your mic and headset and will ask you to listen and speak and the bars will move if its working, if not u can play around with the volume settings from there and it should all work
