Hi.. im having trouble here with my microphone. I'm not sure what is the problem but my headset is working well with the other computers. Before I reformated my Pc the mic was also working well. After reformating, I installed the drivers and now I can here sounds from my speaker but when I test my hardware for voice recording under sounds and audio devices property no sound is detected. I've read some forums saying that I must insert the mic in the blue hole. So I tired it as well as the other holes but still it's not working.

My sound card is SB Audigy by the way, but when I go to Control panel sounds and audio devices Properties it is indicated as SB Live 24 bit.

Hope someone can help me.

Unchained, on the sound card, is the mic enabled? Proper driver? Sometimes a mic is treated as a separate critter. How about in your firewall settings, is it specifically allowed?

hmm.. Ed in Texas, what do you mean on the sound card? how can i see if it is enabled in the sound card? Can you give me a step by step instruction?

About the driver I do't have the original driver but I used this site (http://support.creative.com/downloads/SoftwareAutoUpdate.aspx) to get a driver for my sound card. And I don't think there's a problem with the firewall.

and mavis007 I already checked that but it's not the problem..

Unchained, switch to classic view THEN start>settings>control panel>sound and audio devices. On the hardware tab you'll find your sound card, drivers, themes, etc. listed. Look at properties of the device you wish.
