I installed an SCSI PCi card in my computer. To this, i connected my 80gb maxtor hdd..MY OS is installed on another hard drive...anywayz..when my computer is loaded up, i go to my Computer and my 80gb maxtor HDD is recognized thru the scsi card. BUT the problem is that when i double clik on files inside the hard drive, it says i cannot access it..and later on it gives an error which says something like "$mft".

It would appear that the scsi card you are using is not the one that low leveled the drive. Scsi, just like ide controllers, can address a drive differently between different controllers.
This may be your issue which can't be corrected until you go into the scsi bios and low level the drive. This wipes all info.
Another issue that has similar results is improper termination. How are you terminating the scsi bus ie. the cable? It is best to have a active terminator at the end of the cable with termination turned off on the drive but enabled on the scsi card.
