messenger service pop-ups

How can I get rid of these anoying messenger service pop-ups

Firewall it (hafta block IPX, NetBeui and such).

or do this..

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> On the right side, go to Messenger, right click. stop.

Thanks guys,
I do have a Norton firewall but I surely havn't configured it properly

Tried going to Admin tools but it seemed to start again every time I restarted windows

So I downloaded "shoot the messenger"
seem's to have worked

An easy way to disable the messenger pop-ups
is to remove the messenger check mark from
MSCONFIG ( start-run ) under the services tab.
