frequently i would have this Messenger Service popups from nowhere when i'm using the comp. it simply just appear out of nowhere and is not a IE window. it only got a Cross at the top right hand side and an OK button to click on.

the following message appears:

Messeage From SYSTEM to ALERT on 11/29/2005 3:22:00pm

sysetm has encoutered an Internal Error
Your registry is corrupted

We recommend a complete system scan.

FAILURE TO ACT NOW MAY LEAD TO SYSTEM FAILURE.

i did a scan with microsoft Antispyware and results show nothing.

Norton systemworks one button checkup also fixed my errors.

i highly suspect this could be spyware of such.

nestor, suspect you are correct about the spyware. You can also have a trojan. Suggest you run both Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy for spyware. Run both as they use different databases.
If that doesn't get rid of it, be aware that a virus and a trojan are similar, but not the same. Many times, a virus scanner can detect one it can't clean , other times, it gets missed entirely. There’s an online trojan scanner @:

If it turns out that you have one and need to clean, A² can do the job and you can get it free @:

among other places. If it turns out that you need to use it, be sure to update prior to running.

nestor, Those messages are most probably coming from Window Messenger. Follow the instructions for your version of Windows XP to turn it off at the link below. This should eliminate your problem.

Or install SP2, which turns Messenger Service off by default.

SP2 also includes a lot of other security fixes for XP.
