I have just done a restore on my computer and when I tried to start msn this is the message I keep getting and now it pops up on my screen all the time but each time it has a different address to visit. can anyone tell me what this is. Last allert below.
Message from System to Alert on 01/06/2005
Windows has encountered an internatl error.
Your windows register is corrupted.
an immediate system scan is recommended. Visti http://e-regpatch.com to repair.
That is one address others are www.updatepatch and there is one more that I forgot to write down.
Should I just redo my full restore? I don't no alot about computers but this just seems strange that I was getting all these different web address. Thanks in advance.

You've restored some old spyware/adware by the sounds of it.

1. Re-install msn messenger. That should sort that. You can download it from there website if you don't have it already.

2. Run a virus scan and a spyware scan. I recommend you download and run Ad-ware (which is free for home users) and spywareblaster, which will keep an eye out for future potential spyware infections. You could also download AVG Free Adition to scan for viruses (if you haven't already got AV software).

To find the software i've recommended, go to http://www.google.com and enter the name into the search engine and hit 'search'. Simply download, install and run!

Hi HIT , I haven't reinstalled anything yet. I had tried to go and get the newer version of msn but that didn't help. I am now getting a new message that tells me to go to.
Windows start , then to run , then type in www.swp2.com
do you know what that one means?
Thanks

It's spyware of some kind....you need to get rid of it!

Download Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy and get rid of these pesky things(sorry for any bad grammer or spelling - 1AM here and just got in from pub!:-)

You really need to disinfect your computer of spyware, adware and maybe viruses (never a bad idea).

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

The above link (copy it into your web browser) is the place to get the adaware prog from (top right download link (download.com)).

Search and Destroy can be downloaded from http://www.download.com/3000-8022-10122137.html

Pretty good spelling for this time of night!!

:-)

You need to disable Messenger. Here is a link on how to disable the service. Its has nothing to do with MSN messenger.
