Message's poping up on screen

Hi, I have about every hour a message of advertisement popping up on my screen. It is from Message center. I just installed ICQ the IM program. If anyone knows what this is and how to delete it please help me out.
Even behind a router your public IP address will still be broadcasted. How does it work? I'm not sure, i've never researched it. I just no the fix works.

Another way get rid of ICQ and use the program called "Trillian" it supports all of the messenger systems out there like Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, MSN, IRC, and so on is free to download from thier website. And you do not get bothered with any adverts at all. and to boot you only need one program for all the messenger services around.
