I downloaded Memtest86 from the Memtest86.com website (teresaudio link doesn't work anymore). When I double click install it doesn't do anything. This applies for v. 2.9 and v. 3.0. I have been getting BSOD'd like 6 times a day lately and thought I should check the ram with this tool but I apparently can't. Can someone help me with this please?
Thanx

just tried it myself, the install.bat does work, you need this:
http://www.memtest86.com/memt30.zip
unzip to a temp dir then double click the install.bat then you see a dos prompt window asking this:
Enter target diskette drive:
drop a formatted floppy in your A: drive and type A: then hit enter, if you dont see the dos screen you have something else going on.

When I double clicked the link I saved the file to my desktop "Memt30". When I opened the file (opened, not zipped?) it (for a millisecond) flashed a DOS like window but it closed itself. What am I doing wrong?
Thanx

OK. I've unzipped it (idiot that I am) and can double click install and it brings up the proper DOS propmt window. Do I throw in a disk into my A: and hit enter? What will happen? How do I then proceed to use it? Do I have to restart? Please walk me through it (I'd hate to screw up my computer).
Thanx

after it writes the files to the floppy disk you restart computer with the floppy in and it brings up the test, dont work from windows.

I put a floppy into my A: and formatted it. Then I tried to install to it through the DOS prompt. I then restarted with the disk in my A: and it did nothing...?

It did nothing because ur BIOS is not well configured you must change your boot-up sequence. When comp starts at beginning it tells you press *** button to enter setup(usualy delete) press the delete button and you will come in a blue screen. find the menu that includes thw word boot, (usually boot sequence but depends on the BIOS, then there should be a line or 3 lines where there is writen Boot1, Boot2, Boot3, put floppy disk first, then CD-rom/hard disk and then the other one thats left. Then press esc and save it, then it will restart your comp so put the floppy disk in and it should work... E-mail me if u need more help or if u dont understand... (oh yeah and why do you wanna test yopur mem??)

I want to test the memory to see if any RAM problems may be the reason why I'm constantly getting BSOD'd. What's your email?

My E-mail is: Chrissy_Chris24@hotmail.com
I tested my memory by downloading what joe said and it worked fine and I know what you prblem is, its in the BIOS, E-mail me
