I like to keep track of whats using memory on my comp. I just installed Webroot Spy Sweeper which is offering a free year subscription; http://cybernetnews.com/2007/12/28/...
I noticed that while booting as Windows comes up and Spy Sweeper is loading it goes up to about 40 megs of memory usage (as per Task Manager), then after a min or so it drops to 2 megs. I also noticed that when "spysweeper.exe" goes from ~40 to ~2 megs of memory usage the total memory usage doesn't drop at all, you would think it would drop ~38 megs. What does that mean? it isn't that big of a deal, I am at ~220 megs before I run anything else and have 1 gig of ram. Thanks,
Brad
Brad,Above us only Sky.

Spysweeper is a resource hog and will run upon login unless you disable it.
Life's more painless for the brainless.

Hmmm....why not try Spyware Terminator, it is free (for life) and provides on-line protection as well as doesn't overload your resources. I've never had too much success with spysweeper (false positives), even though you say it is free for 1 yr (then pay for it...):

I use it and have had no problems whatsoever.
Along with spyware terminator I also use Spybot S&D (plus immunize) and Spyware Blaster....I update them every weekJust one spyware program is not enough IMO, the others find what the main one misses.
HTHSome HELP in posting on Cnet plus free progs and instructions Glad to Help!
