I have a Dell Dimension 8200 w/windows XP and want to add memory to it. But there are two different kinds of memory one is ECC and the other Non ECC. How do I know which one I have? It doesn't say anything about this anywheres, I've checked. So how will I know which one to order?

If you still have the documentation for the motherboard for your computer (never throw any documentation away, hardware or software), then you will almost always find out if you need ECC or otherwise in the documentation.
I assume you've looked on the memory chips themselves, sometimes you will find out there, and sometimes you won't.

Your best bet is to go to the DELL web site, input your computer make and model and determine type of memory from there. DELL memory is specific to DELL. Generic memory will not work!!

As far as I saw when I went to Dell to do the same thing for CDLOU3, that model was no longer listed. From other reviews I saw it was made in 2002. Very nice sytem, uses Rambus though, which makes my wallet wince, lol.
