I recently updated my computer with 1G. How do I check my computer to see if it has accounted for the upgrade. I keep pulling up the original setting for 512MB?? THANKS

Where are you seeing the "Original Setting?" If you upgraded the RAM, and the Dell system sees it, you should get (upon first POST after the upgrade) a message telling you the amount of memory has changed and to press F1 (or other key) to continue. If you didn't see that, then the system doesn't recognize the new memory.
You can also run the Crucial System Scan to see what it recognizes.

Jennifer you are exactly right. I was wondering why the coputer didn't prompt me upon restarting. There was nothing new, it just went right thru it's normal start up procedure. I should probably contact Dell. They said this 1G would be compatible with my system.
