Comment:

looking for some info on memory upgrade, Currentley installed is 128 ram DDR, I have purchased a 512 stick but before I install it, i was wondering whether i can leave the 128 in plus the new 512, (2 slots) or do I have to remove the 128.

Also when i fit the new ram do I have to do anything with the PC or is it just a matter of powering back up?

cheers

steve

I personnaly put the larger stick in the first slot followed by any smaller. Seems to make a difference. May not in the case of ddr ram. But yes you can use the smaller stick and the larger stick together.
As for any setup of the ram the bios will configure the ram for you. Enjoy, I jealous...LOL

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...

You can, on the other hand, check the speeds of the memories, and keep in mind that it will run at the lower one, in case they are f.ex. a 266Mhz and a 333Mhz :)
