Explorer displays an F: drive which is described as "Winbond MS Drive (F:)". I have no memory stick plugged in, and if I uninstall the driver, this just reappears when the PC reboots. If I plug in my Acer USB memory stick it appears as a G: drive. How can I make the memory stick appear as the F: drive?

Something here about this:
http://pub173.ezboard.com/funofficialsonyfrm6.showMessage?topicID=214.topicSeems u need the Sony Memory Stick driver utility:

and download SON120XDAV.exeHope this helps

Hi! your"F" is memory stick reader for sony memory stick flash cards (sony and konica digicams). It is hardware. "winbond" because you were on windows update and MS had installed update for this reader (do you have an sony vaio pc?). i donīt know why, but somehow all the people say for usb stick - memory stick. it is not. memory stick is patented and copyrighted through sony corporation. your usb stick goes through usb and it is not intern hardware of your pc. it is extern and receive next free name - G. where is the problem? if you donīt need memory stick reader you can take him out from your pc and throw him out from device manager, but why? maybe you will buy sony digicam someday.

Thanks! I do not have a Vaio. But I do have a Sony camera that I connect via USB to download pictures so I assume that is why the driver was installed. However, why does the Winbond MS Driver automatically reinstall if I uninstall it and reboot the PC without the Sony digital camera attached? Also is there any way to change the drive letter that is allocated to the Winbond MS Driver?

Are you really sure that you donīt have memory stick slot on your pc. Your pc is cca. one year old, and it was already standard to have flash cards slots on the machine.
