I just put a new memory stick into a Toshiba laptop with Win XP Home on it. The stick was recognised by the system, it popped up on the bottom right told me the USB was not 2.0 (bt it should still work) When I look in the My Computer the stick is not there. I tried it in another system and it works. I tried a different memory stick and the same thing.

Tboy, Can you see the stick from within Disk Manager? Go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management. Under Computer Management(local) select storage then Disk Manager - scroll the list down you may see the drive in there which may need formatting before the OS can see it HTH
