I've been having problems with my PC randonly crashing oon me. And recently while looking for help on the web I ran across someone who has the same problem as me. Someone suggested that he had a "memory leak" and that he should replace his ram.
I ned to know whether if it's true or not, because several people in my situation have had the same errors and replacing their memory sticks haven't helped. And I don't want to be one of those people.

well, a memory leak is essentially when a program doesn't de-allocate some of its allocated ram and leaves it locked out of being usable to the system. You have 512Mb of ram so I sincerily doubt that this is your problem. My first course of action would be to get into your BIOS setup and reset everything to the safe/default BIOS settings. Reboot and test for a while. If things clear up then you can return to the BIOS setup and change things to your likeing one page/menu at a time so you know what setting causes a problem when you find errors. Once you have ironed it all out you should be good to go. I've had to tweak literally a hundred or more systems like this and have ALWAYS been able to eliminated the problem but it is a major pain.I hope this helps.

When Microsoft finds memory leaks, it releases a fix, so keep current on Windows updates. Some Windows updates, such as XP Hotfix 811493, also have memory leaks. If you start suffering from memory leaks after an update, report it to Microsoft, and remove the fix. To see if you have it, go to Programs, Add/Remove Programs, and Hotfixes.
